Players and staff spread Christmas cheer at Brian House

Fleetwood Town’s first team staff and players spent the afternoon at Brian House Children’s Hospice on Tuesday.

Ahead of a busy Christmas schedule, head coach Joey Barton and senior players visited the hospice near Blackpool, donating £1,000 from their own pockets as a special Christmas gift, as well as handing out signed shirts and balls, hats and scarfs.

The players were given a tour of the facilities, as well as meeting the children at the hospice.

Club captain Craig Morgan said on the visit: “It’s been a great experience to come down and see the unbelievable work the staff do here at Brian House.

“The lads have put together a donation which will hopefully play a smart part in the huge job of running the hospice. We’ve enjoyed coming down and seeing the smiles on the children’s faces despite the difficult circumstances they are going through so close to Christmas.”

Barton added: “It’s been a really touching experience to come and see the work done here first hand, and it’s been great to learn more about the facilities as well as spending time with the children who are here.

“I’m keen for the staff and players to show their support for Brian House around the year, not just at Christmas.”
