Fleetwood Town and the club’s Community Trust will come together on Saturday 21 March to open the newly formed fanzone on Memorial Park.
Prior to Fleetwood’s Sky Bet League One match with Rotherham United later in the month of March, the club will be opening their family fun fanzone on the Memorial Park – which is situated outside the Parkside Stand at Highbury Stadium.
With the club and trust being awarded a grant of £18,200 from the Premier League Fans Fund, which was handed out to benefit the local community, there will be a number of activities taking place on the day between 12:45-2:45pm.
Alongside a giant inflatable darts board, a giant speed shot machine and bubble football, there will be plenty of sessions for all ages to get involved in. This is to engage with new supporters, helping to ensure the club continues to have an inclusive fan base.
The Community Trust believe that the benefits of the Fans Fund will help improve the fans and their club, improve the way the supporters engage with each other and improve the fans overall experience of the game.
Jason Sharp, Community Trust Manager, said: “This is great opportunity for the Community Trust and Fleetwood Town FC to engage with existing and potential new fans, as well as underrepresented groups in the community.
“We look forward to working closely with the club to make the match day experience the best ever, and with the date announced, we hope to see so many faces down at Highbury to enjoy the variety of activities that we have planned.”
