Community Trust formalise partnership with Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies to provide scalable growth of football for girls and women on the Fylde Coast.
The partnership brings a new and exciting era contributing towards the larger female football strategy outlined in 2023, working collaboratively with the Fleetwood Juniors, Fleetwood Flyers and Wrens. The strategy highlights footballing opportunity for girls as young as 18 months old to access inclusive walking football activity.
Whilst the pathways increase for girls to access the women’s game the Trust’s involvement also aims to enrich the level of competition in the first team with the aim of pushing for promotion.
Kirsten Harris, of Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies added, “We believe this partnership enhances our presence at Fleetwood and encourages growth.
We also aim to work closely with FTCT in promotion of women and girls’ football in the local and wider communities to ensure there is a provision for girls and women for years to come.”
