The Trust are committed to contributing towards the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals (UNSDG), with efforts to reduce our carbon footprint positively impacting our environment.

In recent months the Community Trust engaged with the Low Carbon Chamber where a report was collated based on the current energy usage, flows of recycled materials, waste management and fuel consumption. A series of adaptations have since been made, driven by the Green Team with the vision of reducing our carbon footprint by 5% within the first year.

Many of the Trust’s programmes require frequent travel of varying distances across the borough and it has been encouraged that where appropriate that other modes of travel are taken, such as walking, cycling or public transport.

Fleetwood Town Community Trust are dedicated to diversifying our impact working with likeminded partners who are passionate in making a long-term difference to their local communities. Early this year the Trust announced their corporate partnership with Renew-Energies who provide a range of efficient energy sources to improve performance and quality to residents on the Fylde Coast that meet their eligibility criteria.

The Trust’s Veterans Community Garden in Norcross is now a magnificent haven for sustainability and tranquillity, a safe space for green growth through donated materials whilst inspiring improved health aspirations and social connection. Seating and wellbeing activities have been created through a team of volunteers maximising their knowledge and skillset on the grounds.
We look forward to updating you on our future initiatives as we strive to reduce our carbon footprint.

The Trust also deliver a weekly upcycling hub, empowering adults to take part in a range of arts and crafts activities out of recycled materials. This project is supported by the Premier League Charitable Fund and is linked to our sports clothing donation boxes, where members of the public can donate items of suitable clothing to be regenerated back into our local communities.
