Fleetwood Town Community Trust awarded Premier League Fans Fund grant

Fleetwood Town Football Club and the Community Trust have been awarded a grant of £18,200 from the Premier League Fans Fund, which will benefit the local community.

The grant will enable Fleetwood Town and the Community Trust to run workshops to engage with new supporters, particularly youngsters, females and families, helping to ensure the club continues to have an inclusive fan base.

To celebrate this grant, the club the Community Trust will be holding a dedicated community day in March at a designated Fleetwood Town home match. Families will be treated to pre-match entertainment before being given the opportunity to take part in a half-time penalty shoot-out and crossbar challenge at Highbury.

The club will also look to recruit a cohort of volunteers, who will be trained to support the ongoing development of these pre-match and half-time activities from next season.

The Premier League Fans Fund is a commitment from the Premier League to fund projects and organisations which improve the relationship between fans and their clubs, the way football supporters engage with each other and fans’ experience of the game.

The Community Trust believe that the benefits of the Fans Fund will help improve the fans and their club, improve the way the supporters engage with each other and improve the fans overall experience of the game.
