David joins the Community Trust following nearly ten-years at Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, leaving the organisation as their Deputy CEO and bringing much experience and leadership to the Club’s official charitable arm. He will bring a wide range of skills to complement the existing team in place and will look to further expand and develop the ongoing work within Fleetwood and local communities.
The new CEO at the Trust has also had a spell working with Basketball England and will be wanting to utilise skills gained at both Blackburn and within basketball to help in his new role, bringing in fresh ideas and taking the Trust to the next level.
David said on the appointment: “I am really pleased to be here and to help take the Community Trust forward into the next era of its journey.”
He added: “It’s a great set up that I am coming into, and for me it’s about pushing on from the great work Matt Hilton has done here, continuously improving the impact we make and supporting the current staff to continue to grow the exceptional work done in the local community.
“I want to develop fans of the future, engaging local people through our community offer, whilst working in conjunction with the Football Club to bring in more people on matchdays.
“It’s really exciting and I can’t wait to meet more people at the Club and also those external partners and people, when out visiting schools and groups through our programmes.”
Welcome on board, David!
