Fleetwood Town’s Community Trust provided five star activities during the Easter holiday period. Our dedicated team of coaches engaged with a total of 1239 children of the eight-day Easter period across our five venues;
- Shakespeare Primary School
- Fleetwood’s Charity School
- Carleton Green Primary
- Poolfoot Farm Sports & Leisure Complex
- YMCA Lofthouse
Inclusive of these venues, the Trust offered free provision to children who were eligible for free school meals in Wyre. The local summer holiday clubs are part of the Government’s Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF). Backed by a nationwide investment of up to £220 million, the programme will enable children and young people to enjoy fun activities with friends and learn and develop new skills. The children were able to enjoy daily, nutritious hot meals as well as learning more about their own health and wellbeing. We would like to offer a huge thank you to all of the catering and additional delivery providers who contributed towards making HAF a great success.
Carol Southern from Wyre Council, “We are delighted to partner locally in Wyre with FTFCCT on the delivery of the successful Holiday Activity and Food programme, funded by the Dept of Education and LCC. Our partnership enables Children & Young People on benefits related free school meals to access FTFCCT’s sports and physical activity camps across Wyre, reaching and providing fun, varied and interesting activities and food for each child that qualifies.”
Keep an eye out for our next camps – dates to be released soon!
