Fleetwood Town Community Trust is proud to announce that it will be holding its second Stadium Sleepout at Highbury Stadium in March 2026, bringing together supporters, local residents, and community partners to spotlight the growing homelessness crisis in the UK and to raise vital funds.

This event gives individuals the opportunity to spend a night, under the stars in the Memorial Stand, reflecting on the harsh realities faced by people sleeping rough, and to support those working to provide alternatives.

Over 4,500 people every night sleep rough in England, with more than 132,000 households are now living in temporary accommodation, the highest number on record.

The Stadium Sleepout is a collective effort between the Trust, Fylde Coast YMCA and The Salvation Army, harnessing partnerships to embody the community spirit and share key messaging.

Community Trust CEO, John Hartley explained, “Homelessness is not just an issue in big cities, it touches every corner of the country, including our own community here in Fleetwood. By hosting a sleepout at Highbury, we hope to shine a light on the humanity of individuals who often feel invisible, and to support the organisations doing this incredibly hard work day in, day out.”

Graham Oatridge of YMCA Fylde Coast added, “At YMCA Fylde Coast, we understand the importance of having somewhere safe and secure to call home. Without this, life is hard and your potential can be limited. Last year we provided a home to more than 70 people who would otherwise have found themselves homeless. By partnering with Fleetwood Town Community Trust on the Stadium Sleepout we know we can collectively increase the awareness and understanding of the challenges for those experiencing unstable living habits, and from the funds raised, we can do more to support people in our local communities to be healthy in mind, body and spirit.”

Participants will be encouraged to register and fundraise in the build up to the night, whilst also hearing more about the partnering support services available.
