A new community partnership is set to bring fresh energy to Fleetwood, as McDonald’s names Fleetwood Town Community Trust as its chosen charity for the next four months.
The collaboration will see McDonald’s restaurants in the area raise funds and awareness for the Trust’s work, which focuses on improving health, wellbeing, and opportunities for local residents through sport and community programmes.
Preparations are already underway, with charity collection tubs and promotional banners set to be installed in stores ahead of the official launch on 1st May. The initiative aims not only to generate vital funds but also to highlight the importance of staying active within the community.
Sam Rayner, Business Manager at MH&S Restaurants LTD said:
“We are very pleased to have Fleetwood Town Community Trust as our chosen charity for the next four months. As someone who lives in Fleetwood, I see first-hand the positive impact the Trust has on the community. Being able to support this work was a big personal motivation for me, and together we hope to promote the wide range of activities delivered by the Trust while also raising awareness among our staff and the wider community about the importance of staying active.”
Tom Hutton, Fleetwood Town Community Trust CEO added:
“We’re delighted to be collaborating with such a well-established local partner and global brand. There is exciting fundraising and wider programme development potential between both organisations, and I look forward to supporting the partnership to achieve maximum impact locally.”
As part of the partnership, a series of engaging, activity-based fundraising events are being planned. These may include staff step challenges, sponsored walks or runs involving multiple store teams, and in-store fitness challenges such as cycling, rowing, or step-count targets. Another idea under consideration is a “minutes active” challenge, encouraging teams to log and combine their physical activity over a set period.
The Trust, which is closely linked to Fleetwood Town F.C., has built a strong reputation for delivering inclusive programmes that support people of all ages and backgrounds. From youth engagement and education to health and wellbeing initiatives, its impact is felt across the town.
This partnership represents a shared commitment to community improvement, combining McDonald’s local presence with the Trust’s expertise in delivering meaningful programmes. Over the coming months, residents can expect to see a variety of fundraising activities and opportunities to get involved, reinforcing a collective effort to build a healthier, more active Fleetwood.
