From the Pitch to the Community: Coughlan Named PFA Community Champion

Fleetwood Town Community Trust are proud to announce that Ronan Coughlan has been named the Club’s PFA Community Champion for the 2025/26 season.

The PFA Community Champion award recognises players who go above and beyond in their contribution to the local community, alongside their performances on the pitch. This year’s recipient has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to supporting others and making a meaningful difference across the Fleetwood community.

Earlier in the season, Coughlan visited students at Fleetwood Town Community Trust College, delivering an inspiring talk about his journey and recovery from long-term injury. His openness and resilience left a lasting impression, motivating young people to overcome their own challenges.

He also spent valuable time with a group of disabled supporters at the Club’s training ground, creating memorable experiences and strengthening the connection between the team and its fans. In addition, Coughlan played an active role in supporting the Fleetwood Town Community Trust during their Christmas campaign, speaking passionately about his faith and the importance of giving back—particularly during the festive period.

His efforts did not stop there. Demonstrating real initiative, Coughlan approached the Club and Community Trust to help organise a special matchday campaign in support of the Local Pantry. The initiative took place during the fixture against Bromley FC in February.

Despite being sidelined through injury at the time, Coughlan was present on the day, fully involved in the campaign. He took part in a Q&A session with corporate sponsors and worked alongside volunteers to ensure the event was a success. Thanks to the collective efforts led by Coughlan, the campaign raised over £650 in donations and collected more than 200 essential food items to support residents in the local area.

Coughlan’s dedication, compassion, and leadership off the pitch make him a truly deserving recipient of this award.
