It was a successful week for the Fleetwood Town Community Trust as they hosted the Joy of Moving Festival and a Primary Teachers Award training day.
Members of the Trust have been out and about in local schools helping not just children with sports, but also teachers from a number of schools across the Wyre and Fylde area.
Monday saw the Joy of Moving Festival take place at Larkholme Primary School in Fleetwood, and saw the whole school from KS1 to KS2 take part in physical activity sessions and one life skills lesson which dealt with how being helpful goes a long way in society.

Thursday saw the Trust, Wyre & Fylde School Sports and The FA come together for a training day for local primary school teachers.
19 primary school teachers from PE Co-ordinators, NQT’s and assistants all participated in activities and theory lessons to give all an insight into primary school Physical Education.
Activities were linked around the National Curriculum with directional and multidirectional games, with the members of staff also understanding how to differentiate and plan high-quality PE lesson.
Ash Moreau, the Trust’s Primary League Primary Stars Co-ordinator spoke about the event and praised the work of the course leaders and everybody involved.
“The Primary School Teachers event was a real success. It was brilliantly delivered by Chris from the FA, and it was well supported by Lee Cadwallader – the Wyre & Fylde School Sports leader – and by the members of staff who attended.
“The teachers showed great enthusiasm and really got stuck into all aspects of the day, which is always great to see.
“Ultimately the end goal is to improve children’s health and get them enjoying sport and help keep them active. Today will go a long way in improving the standard of PE that is delivered in schools.”
