Fleetwood Town Community Trust are pleased to announce the appointment of Jack Paton for the role of Media Assistant. Jack has been a student at the college for the last year, volunteering for different programmes within the Trust.
The media assistant role is one that will help the Community Trust continue with delivering work in the local community, as well as creating more exposure to the schemes we offer. This will be achieved by a greater social media presence and articles on our website to promote the work we do.
The appointment sees another of our students have the opportunity to work within the Community Trust in a paid position. Recently, some students have been paid to work on our sports camps and this role is another example of the Trust offering work experience and paid experience opportunities to pupils at the college.
This position will allow Jack to have an insight into a career in media, with the chance to work at the Trust and gain work experience with the first team media team. Recently, Jack had the opportunity to oversee a press conference with Simon Grayson and write for the club’s website.
Sport & Education Manager, Laura Went said “It is fantastic to have Jack on board with us at the Trust as a paid member of staff. Jack has been with the college for just over a year now studying on our Level 3 BTEC programme. Within his time, he has shown great determination, not only within his studies but through any work experience opportunities. The fact he has now turned his work placements into a paid role with us, is a credit to his maturity and application of his skills. He will provide support to our staff on our different programmes whilst also developing his own media skills. “
“It is great to see the opportunities the college programme has provided Jack, and we continuously look to promote employability skills and how students can turn their passion into employment opportunities.”
