Exciting times ahead for Fleetwood Town Community Sports College as they enrol a record number of students onto their BTEC programme as the College continues to grow their offering.
Last Thursday, the College enrolled 19 students onto their BTEC programme, giving a total of 37 BTEC students including second years, which is their highest number yet.
Year on year growth in numbers allows the College to expand their programme, allowing more young people to continue their education and gain an insight into the sporting world from experienced professionals.

The College is also launching their brand-new Foundation Degree this September, and has enrolled 10 students onto the course. They have partnered with the University of South Wales to provide students the opportunity to either stay at Poolfoot after completing their BTEC course, or for the local community to enhance their qualifications. This course is offered to anyone over 18 who wants to fulfil a career within the sports industry.
Matt Hilton, Chief Executive of the Community Trust, said:
“It really is an exciting time to be part of Fleetwood Town Community Sports College. Our student numbers are increasing every year which only benefits the experience for students and the quality of the programme we provide. This year we will have two teams competing in the CEFA league alongside opportunities for students to be involved in coaching if they do not want to play.”
“With being based at the training ground, we can offer students amazing work opportunities such as in the analysis department, physiotherapy department and media department. We are really looking forward to welcoming our first years to the college, and are excited to see our returning students back,” added Senior Lecturer Laura Went.
