“Try Sports: Darts” Sessions Launching in Fleetwood

We’re excited to announce the launch of a brand-new Try Sports: Darts programme, delivered by Fleetwood Town Community Trust in partnership with Wyre Council, Winmau Darts, and hosted at the fantastic The Big Fish Darts Hub (194 Lord Street, Fleetwood).

Starting Thursday 6th November, the sessions will offer young people a fun and engaging introduction to the sport of darts, helping to develop confidence, coordination, and new skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Session times:

•  5:00–6:00 pm – Ages 8–12
•  6:00–7:00 pm – Ages 13–16

Both sessions are free of charge and open to all abilities. Through our Try Sports partnership with Wyre Council, we aim to provide more young people across the borough with access to high-quality sporting opportunities that inspire participation and encourage active lifestyles.

Working alongside, Wyre Council, Winmau Darts and The Big Fish Darts Hub, participants will benefit from professional-standard facilities and equipment — giving them the perfect introduction to one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK.

“We’re really excited to be working with Wyre Council, Winmau Darts, and The Big Fish Darts Hub on this new project,” said Ryan Willetts, Head of Sport and Physical Activity at Fleetwood Town FC Community Trust. “Darts is growing rapidly in popularity, and it’s fantastic to be able to give local children the chance to experience the sport for free in such a great environment. These sessions are all about getting young people active, socialising, and trying something new.”

Ryan also extended his thanks to Beth and the team at The Big Fish Darts Hub for offering their venue for the sessions, highlighting how this collaboration will benefit everyone involved and strengthen community links through sport adn especially Darts.

In the run-up to the launch, our team will also be visiting local schools to promote the sessions and invite pupils to get involved.
