Community Trust Awards Contract to Tom Pratt Following Outstanding Contribution
Tom Pratt from Fleetwood has been rewarded with a contract from the Community Trust in recognition of his dedication and hard work over the past two years.
Tom, who is autistic, began working with the Trust in 2024 on a casual basis, supporting the Go Beyond programme. Go Beyond delivers inclusive activities for people with disabilities, and Tom has played an important role across several areas of the programme.
During his time with the Trust, Tom has worked with children aged 8–16 through the Premier League Kicks programme, supported Fleetwood Town FC matchdays, and assisted with holiday clubs. In these roles, he has helped children develop their confidence and social skills, including supporting trips and off-site activities.
In addition to his work with young people, Tom has made a significant contribution to adult disability sport. He has been instrumental in the growth of the adult football sessions, helping to establish a new PAN-ability football team by encouraging friends and participants to attend. As a result, the programme now has 20 registered players who regularly take part in matches and tournaments.
The team coached by Tom has achieved considerable success, winning six out of the eight tournaments they have entered. Tom has also excelled within the adult Boccia sessions, where he has built strong relationships with participants and developed lasting friendships. He assists with transporting players to competitions and supports the delivery of two weekly sessions.
Phil Bowker, who leads the Go Beyond Disability Programme, said:
“I asked Tom two years ago if he could assist me with the adult football team. Since then, the programme has grown significantly and we now deliver six sessions per week, all of which Tom supports. Without Tom, I would have struggled to run the sessions at this scale. He has never let me down, always arrives early, is the last to leave, and thoroughly deserves this opportunity.”
The future looks bright for both Tom and the Go Beyond programme. Offering Tom a contract provides further opportunities to continue developing and expanding the provision.
Tom will also continue his work on Fleetwood Town FC matchdays, where he has taken on increased responsibility in leading the delivery team, and will remain involved in holiday clubs for children.
Congratulations to Tom, and welcome to the Community Trust.
