Fleetwood Town Community Trust are pleased to support the Kickstart Scheme.

The Kickstart Scheme is a UK Government funded scheme which provides funding to create new job placements for 16- to 24-year-olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long-term unemployment.

The scheme was announced by Chancellor Rishi Sunak as part of his Plan for Jobs and aims to give unemployed young people a future of opportunity and hope, through high quality 6-month job placements.

As the official charity of Fleetwood Town Football Club, Fleetwood Town Community Trust delivers a wide range of programmes across the core areas of Education & Employability, Community Welfare & Inclusion and  Football Development, touching the lives of a huge spectrum of people in and around Wyre. From children and young people right through to senior citizens.

The scope of work means there are plenty of varied opportunities for young people to gain valuable experience working within the organisation.

Matt Hilton, Chief Executive at Fleetwood Town Community Trust said: “We are delighted to support the Kickstart Scheme to offer young people the opportunity to learn and develop key skills through job placements.

“As a charity, we have always placed great emphasis on employability, training and supporting young people in the local area in their search for work.

“It is an innovative scheme that is needed more than ever before as young people navigate their way through the effects of the pandemic.”
