Community Trust is awarded a grant from the Community Alcohol Partnership!

Community Alcohol Partnerships (CAP) is pleased to announce that Fleetwood Town Community Trust have been awarded grant funding through the Innovation Fund. The fund aims to support creative, community-led initiatives designed to reduce underage drinking and associated anti-social behaviour, directly supporting CAP’s mission for an alcohol-free childhood.

The project delivery will commence immediately with interactive educational workshops being held in hot spot locations in Fleetwood, Cleveleys, Poulton and Over Wyre, whilst also branching out the scheme of work in partnering secondary schools across Wyre.

Corinne Mason, Environmental Protection & Community Safety Manager at Wyre Council added, “The provision of alcohol education within a supportive environment is a key focus of the Wyre CAP and serves to equip young people with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed decisions about alcohol.   The sessions which will be delivered in both community and educational settings over the summer holiday period support the extension of the Wyre CAP beyond Fleetwood to the wider Wyre District and mark the start of a programme of activity intended to raise awareness of alcohol harm and discourage underage drinking.”
