Fleetwood Town Community Trust will now be able to deliver even more community projects thanks to their brand-new partnership with Affinity Lancashire.

Affinity Lancashire, the former Freeport Fleetwood outlet mall, have signed up as the Community Trust’s Official Community Partner for 2019-20 and together they will enrich the lives of individuals within the local communities. This will be achieved through programmes that tackle health and wellbeing, employability, and anti-social behaviour.

In addition, Affinity will provide volunteering opportunities for personal and professional development, as well as becoming an ambassador for the National Citizen Service (NCS) programme, which brings together young people from different backgrounds in a programme of activities helping them develop the confidence, skills, and attitudes they need to become more engaged with their communities and to become active and responsible citizens.

Matt Hilton, Chief Executive of the Community Trust, said:

“I’m delighted that Affinity Lancashire have signed up as the Trust’s Official Community partner. After being an outlet mall in Fleetwood town for 24 years, it’s great that they want to provide a platform for supporting the local community. I’m looking forward to a successful partnership where together we can make a huge difference and improve the lives of so many people.”

Centre Manager, Catherine Holmes, added:

“As our name suggests, the essence of our brand is connection and closeness, and we aim to fulfil that ethos by further integrating ourselves in our local community.

“Following the rebranding of our Centre, we thought now would be a fitting opportunity to further support our local community by working closely with Fleetwood Town Community Trust as their Official Community Partner and offer our help and support to participating parties to effectively deliver their projects across our home town.”

Established in 2013, Fleetwood Town Community Trust is a vibrant and active community project that aims to provide socially inclusive community, health and education engagement programmes which aim to make a difference to the lives of people across Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde. Having successfully attained charitable status, the challenge for the Trust is now to reach even more people and increase their role in the community.
