Fleetwood Town Community Trust hosted their annual Gifted and Talented Academy at Rossall School, which saw 42 boys and girls from across Wyre attend the event.

The day was delivered in partnership with Rossall and Lee Cadwallader from Wyre & Fylde School Sports Partnerships, and it allowed children to get out of the classroom for the day to test their skills in a variety of new sporting activities.

With breakfast cooked for all on arrival, it was followed by a tour around the school grounds before the sporting action began.

Pupils were split into three different groups, which had a sports lead in each from the staff at Rossall. These sessions consisted of trampolining, indoor athletics and hockey. After all pupils had their turn on all three activities, it was time for lunch. And did all earn their lunch after being put through their paces.

The afternoon saw the group of 42 split into two groups, with the girls going swimming first, with the boys going to the all new golf simulator, With both sessions being delivered by Rossall’s highly qualified members of staff. With the two groups swapping midway through the afternoon, it was day those children will not forget in a hurry.

The Community Trust would like to thank Rossall for hosting and delivering sessions on the day, as well as Lee Cadwallader for his co-ordination and delivery throughout the day.
