Fleetwood Town Community Trust’s BTEC students are back at Poolfoot after completing their two-week tour in Spain.

The fortnight consisted of daily training and Education sessions – provided by Erasmus – where they developed their skills, techniques and tactics in a different climate and learnt about coaching and officiating in different sports.

As well as these sessions, the students spent time learning about the different culture, cuisine and even took in some local history at the Roman Ruins museum in Albir.

The students also played in two fixtures against Under 19s Segunda Division 2 academy teams, proving their abilities against the tough humid conditions they encountered.

On their rest days the students went to Aqualandia waterpark, watched a local cricket match and participated in Beach Volleyball tournaments.

Laura Went, the Senior Lecturer at the Sports College said: “This trip promoted teamwork, leadership and resilience amongst all of our students.

“They represented the College and Football Club exceptionally well and we were inundated with positive comments from other hotel users and representatives that we worked alongside.”

Now back on site after a wonderful two weeks away, the students are back in the classroom ready to complete their first, with some only having 12 months left.
